Zfolio Becomes PCAF Global Accredited Partner

Zfolio announces that it has become a Global Accredited Partner with the The Partnership for Carbon Accounting Financials (PCAF)

9 January 2025 – Toronto – The Partnership for Carbon Accounting Financials (PCAF) today announced the partnership with Zfolio, the leading platform for measuring and managing financed emissions.

Zfolio has long been committed to providing comprehensive emissions data and high-quality analytics to asset managers, asset owners, banks, and insurers, across all relevant asset classes. Now, as an accredited partner, Zfolio’s methodology has been assessed for compliance with the PCAF Standard. Zfolio now has access to the PCAF database, allowing it to integrate data to calculate financed emissions from all PCAF asset classes both current and historic.

Widely adopted by financial institutions globally, the PCAF Standard is a crucial enabler of the sector’s decarbonization efforts. Along with its accredited partners, PCAF is committed to continually developing robust methodologies for GHG accounting across different sectors and products to support institutions in this effort.

“Zfolio is delighted to formalize our arrangement with PCAF. PCAF has become the global standard for banks, insurance companies, asset owners and managers to measure their financed emissions. We are proud to be a complete platform that covers all asset classes, includes all required data, and can help investors understand why their emissions change over time.”
Peter Howard, co-founder of Zfolio

“We’re pleased to welcome Zfolio as our newest accredited partner. Financial institutions are under increasing pressure to report emissions, and access to standardized, high-quality data is crucial to meeting these obligations. By sharing our resources with like-minded organizations, we hope to move one step closer to elevating transparency and accountability across financial institutions.”
Bart van Lunteren at PCAF

PCAF developed an accredited partner program to meet the growing demand from financial institutions committing to use the PCAF Standard to measure and disclose emissions associated with their financial activities and the corresponding need to collaborate with third-party businesses supporting this activity. The accredited partner program is a collaboration between PCAF and the service providers to support consistent, comparable, and high-quality disclosures and is designed for consultancies, data providers, and software providers operating in this space. The model offers these service providers access to the PCAF Academy, the PCAF Database and Technical Assistance in the application of the PCAF Standard, along with other benefits.

About PCAF

The Partnership for Carbon Accounting Financials (PCAF) was launched globally in September 2019. Currently, more than 550 financial institutions have subscribed to the PCAF initiative. PCAF signatories work together to develop the Global GHG Accounting and Reporting Standard for the Financial Industry to measure and disclose the greenhouse gas emissions of their loans and investments. By doing so, PCAF signatories take an important step to assess climate-related risks, set targets in line with the Paris Climate Agreement, and develop effective strategies to decarbonize our society.
